After church I did this little activity with the kids. My mom told me about it and it was much easier than the one I was going to do. It was found on Sugardoodle!
The crescent roll represents the cloth that Jesus was wrapped in. The marshmallow represents Jesus. The butter represents the oils of embalming and the cinnamon and sugar represent the spices used to anoint the body. We dipped the marshmallow in the butter, then the cinnamon sugar and wrapped the marshmallow tightly inside the crescent roll. Then we baked it for 10 minutes. The oven represents the tomb.
After the rolls cooled, we opened then up to discover that Jesus is no longer there. He is risen.
This gave me a good chance to talk to the kids about the true meaning of Easter and we had a great time doing an activity together.
